November 3, 2010

Mom was just taken out of surgery and into recovery. She did well in surgery. They covered the last bit of her arm with Integra and also the upper half of both legs. The lower half of the legs are covered with Acticoat because the left side is still not cooperating as far as maintaining healthy and clean tissue. This lack of health is due to the general lack of blood flow in the area. Because she had bad circulation in this area to begin with, the burning causing the veins to shrink only amplified the issue. The doctors spent a great deal of time cleaning the left side as well as possible in hopes that it will remain this way so that they can go into surgery again on Friday.

If there is a way that we can will her left leg to cooperate, we all need to do so now! Thank you all so very much for your support.

  4. Dear Bobby, Nadine, Trina and Savannah. We have been in and out of town for the past 2 months and just heard last week at Hopey's soccer game about the accident. We can't adequately express our disbelief, shock and saddness. We just got Trina's blog the other night and have just finished reading it. Thank you, Trina, for the detailed and loving notes as we took this journey spiritually with each of you. You are such a powerful and beautiful witness to the Faith we hold in a Loving God. No doubt, you are all being tested beyond all measure, but as we read your blog with the accompanying comments, we know that you will draw strength, courage and support from each and everyone who loves the Durham Family. This is my second attempt to send a comment so I'm going to stop here and try sending it before I continue. Love and blessings, Nancy and Tom Adams

  5. Hi again. I guess I'm not that computer illieterate as my second attempt worked.

You have the prayers of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and I've asked you all to be placed on a world-wide network of prayer requests. Hopey reminded me last night that we need to put your family on our Mass intentions for the weekend. We know how precious children are to Our Lord, so if Hopey's prayers and thought are being heard loud and clear!

Did you know that GOOD NEWS in Greek translate to HEALING? So as we read our daily scriptures, we also claim healing for each and every part of Nadine's skin grafts. Her magnanimous spirit and personality are going to carry Nadine's healing into wholeness. I could visualize that smile she gave to the nurse last month.

During my daily Rosary, I have been including all of you in the prayer intentions. Our Blessed Mother knows how it is to witness a very Dear Loved One suffer so innocently. So she hears each and every prayer at this time.

I'm also asking special intercessions througSt. John the Apostle, the Patron Saint of Burn Patients. He raised to life 200 people who were killed in a fire.

We're also asking prayers through 3 Jewish men, Sharach, Meshach and Abednego, who survived King Nebuchadnezzar's firey furnace in Daniel 3.

We know God is hearing everyone's prayers. I read on 10/19 where Trina thought it would be several months before Nadine would be moved to Maricopa and I understand she's been there since last Friday.

If we can pick up Savannah or take her somewhere, please let us know: blessuall@cox.net or 520.586.3757.

All of our love, the Adams Family
